Asbestos Consultation and Advice

North West Asbestos & Demolition Solutions provides end-to-end asbestos consulting and management support across residential, commercial, and industrial projects in Western Australia. Rather than treating asbestos as a single task, we manage it as a complete process - from identification through to remediation planning and final clearance.

It typically starts with site assessment and asbestos identification. We undertake inspections and testing to determine whether asbestos-containing materials (ACM) are present, including in areas that are often overlooked such as wall cavities, roofing systems, service penetrations, pipelines, and even contaminated soil in some environments. Because asbestos was widely used across WA’s building stock, a thorough and structured inspection is essential before any work begins.

Once asbestos is identified, the next step is the development of an asbestos register. This document records the location, type, and condition of ACM within the property and forms the foundation for all future decision-making. It is a legal requirement in workplaces where asbestos is present and is the key reference point for maintenance, refurbishment, and demolition planning.

From there, we develop asbestos management plans that translate the register into practical controls. These plans outline how asbestos risks are managed over time, including safe work procedures, communication protocols, monitoring requirements, and incident response procedures. They are designed to ensure asbestos is not disturbed during routine activities and that all workers and contractors understand where risks exist before they start work.

For larger or more complex projects, we also provide asbestos removal scoping and project support. This includes defining the extent of removal required, sequencing works safely, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory requirements. Where asbestos removal is required, we assist in planning containment, clearance processes, and verification steps to support safe reoccupation or progression of works.

Site inspections are a key part of this process. We provide on-site evaluation to identify risks early and ensure appropriate controls are implemented. This helps prevent unexpected asbestos discoveries during construction, which are often a major cause of delays and cost escalation.

Asbestos management is not a one-off activity, it is a lifecycle process. From initial identification through to removal and clearance, each stage builds on the last. Our role is to ensure that process is clear, compliant, and practical, so that property owners, developers, contractors, and tenants can move forward with confidence.

Asbestos has been used extensively across Western Australia, often in places that are not immediately obvious. Because of this, uncertainty is common, but with the right assessment, documentation, and planning, it becomes manageable.
