If you are from WA, Wittenoom is definitely a place you will have heard of. In the 1950’s and early 1960’s, Wittenoom was an asbestos mine, but growing health concerns meant it was eventually shut down around the 1970’s.

In 1978, the effects of pleural abnormalities and other asbestos-related diseases were beginning to show up in former mine workers.

Asbestos is deadly. Don’t risk it.
