Morrell Park Water Infrastructure Replacement

North West Asbestos & Demolition Solutions was engaged to undertake the staged removal and replacement of approximately 1.9km of asbestos cement (ACM) pipeline within Morrell Park in Broome.

The works were delivered within a live residential environment, requiring careful planning and sequencing to minimise disruption to residents and maintain access throughout the project.

A staged methodology was implemented, involving controlled excavation alongside the existing pipeline to enable safe, non-destructive removal of ACM materials while preventing fibre release. Particular care was taken in high-impact areas, with driveways and access points completed individually to ensure continuous access for residents.

All asbestos removal works were carried out in accordance with applicable legislation and codes of practice, with strict control measures in place for containment, handling, and transport of ACM.

Replacement infrastructure was installed progressively, ensuring continuity of services and efficient project delivery.

All asbestos materials were securely wrapped, labelled, transported, and disposed of at a licensed waste facility in full compliance with regulatory requirements.

This project demonstrates NWADS’ capability to deliver large-scale, staged asbestos remediation works within occupied residential environments, with a strong focus on safety, planning, and community consideration.
