Cable Pit Replacements, Marble Bar

North West Asbestos & Demolition Solutions was engaged to undertake the removal of two asbestos-lined telecommunications cable pits located on Francis Street in Marble Bar, in accordance with DWER guidelines and Telstra specifications.

The works involved the careful excavation and non-destructive removal of the asbestos-containing pits to minimise disturbance and prevent fibre release. Strict control measures were implemented throughout the process to ensure the safety of workers, the public, and surrounding infrastructure.

Following removal, the pits were replaced with compliant poly pits installed to relevant Australian Standards, restoring the integrity and functionality of the asset.

All asbestos materials were securely wrapped, sealed, labelled, and transported to a licensed waste management facility for disposal in accordance with regulatory requirements.

This project demonstrates our capability to deliver specialised asbestos removal within live utility environments, ensuring compliance, safety, and minimal disruption to essential services.
