Cable Pit Replacements – City of Karratha Schools Program

North West Asbestos & Demolition Solutions was engaged to deliver the removal and replacement of asbestos-containing cable pits across multiple schools within the City of Karratha, with approximately 30 pits completed across three education facilities.

Works were undertaken in accordance with relevant legislation, codes of practice, and Australian Standards, with compliant replacement poly pits supplied and installed as part of the program.

All pits were carefully excavated and removed using controlled, non-destructive methods to minimise disturbance and prevent fibre release. Replacement infrastructure was installed to ensure the ongoing functionality and compliance of electrical assets.

A licensed electrical contractor was engaged to isolate and re-energise all affected services in accordance with Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures, ensuring the safety of personnel and protection of critical infrastructure throughout the works.

All asbestos materials were securely contained, transported, and disposed of at licensed waste facilities in full compliance with regulatory requirements.

This program of works demonstrates our capability to deliver high-volume, repeatable asbestos remediation projects across live educational environments, with a strong focus on safety, compliance, and coordination with multiple stakeholders.
