Asbestos Removal, Asbestos Testing, Asbestos Register, Government
Initial works involved comprehensive asbestos inspection and sampling across the Broome Regional Prison facility. Laboratory analysis confirmed the presence of asbestos-containing materials (ACM) in three sampled locations, with all testing undertaken by a NATA-accredited laboratory.
Following confirmation, North West Asbestos & Demolition Solutions developed a detailed Asbestos Register in accordance with legislative requirements. The register included:
This provided the client with a clear, compliant framework for managing asbestos risks across the site.
Following identification, North West Asbestos & Demolition Solutions was engaged to undertake the safe removal of confirmed ACM in accordance with the Code of Practice for the Safe Removal of Asbestos.
The scope of works included:
All works were carefully planned and executed within an operational correctional facility, requiring strict adherence to safety, access, and security protocols. Where access constraints existed (such as within service pits and beneath structures), works were undertaken so far as reasonably practicable in line with regulatory requirements.
All asbestos waste was securely contained, transported, and disposed of at a licensed facility in full compliance with WA legislation.
This project demonstrates North West Asbestos & Demolition Solutions capability to deliver end-to-end asbestos management services, from identification and documentation through to safe removal and remediation, within high-security, live operational environments.
