Asbestos Inspections & Testing - Remote Kimberley Schools

North West Asbestos & Demolition Solutions was engaged to undertake a multi-site audit program across regional and remote locations in the Kimberley, to identify, inspect, and assess the presence of asbestos-containing cable pits within school facilities.

The program included site visits to:

• Doon Doon EDWA Residence
• Jungdranung Remote Community School
• Halls Creek District High School
• Fitzroy Valley District High School
• Broome Camp School

Works involved a coordinated road mobilisation across multiple remote communities, with inspections carried out to identify existing cable pit infrastructure and assess the potential presence of asbestos-containing materials (ACM).

Where required, targeted sampling was undertaken in accordance with relevant Codes of Practice, with all samples submitted to a NATA-accredited laboratory for analysis. Findings were documented to support asset management, risk identification, and future remediation planning.

The program required careful logistical planning, efficient scheduling, and adaptability to varying site conditions across remote locations.
