A licenced asbestos professional will take the following steps to ensure your job is completed to the highest standards, promoting the safety and wellbeing of family, friends and patrons using the property post-removal.

For each and every job - no matter how big or small - North West Asbestos Solutions are required to do the following:

Step 1: Notify WorkSafe WA about your job prior to commencement. We submit our safety plans, removal processes and details of any certified employees or subcontractors at this point.

Step 2: Remove the asbestos via the safest avenue possible. A site supervisor will ensure all workers are wearing correct PPE and following guidelines set out in our Asbestos Removal Control Plan & Safe Work Method Statement which mitigate all risks to workers, the client and other personnel who may need to use the site post-removal.

Step 3: Clean the site of any asbestos debris - this step will ensure inhabitants of the home or building are at no risk whatsoever of coming into contact with asbestos fibres (which can make people terminally ill with asbestos-caused diseases).

Step 4: Wrap and dispose of the asbestos using WorkSafe compliant methods and disposing of the waste at an approved asbestos disposal point.

Step 5: Utilise the service of an Independent Asbestos Assessor to provide final certification the site is 100% safe to re-enter. This report will be supplied to the client.

If you are unsure if your asbestos removalist is qualified for the job, ask them for:

• Their licence number as supplied by WorkSafe

• Are they communicating with WorkSafe on the steps above?

• The insurances they hold, particularly Public Liability

• If they have HEPA filtration vacuum cleaners to clean the site

• Which PPE they are intending to wear and if it is legal and compliant with WorkSafe

• How they intend to wrap and dispose of the asbestos waste legally

• Will you be provided assurance by an independent assessment certificate that the building is safe to re-enter?
